Anthony and Barbara Chavez met at The Culinary Institute of America.  They have spent the last ten years working in several locations not only refining their pastry skills but also gaining valuable management experience along the way.

Anthony graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts Management.  He then worked at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Chicago, IL under the direction of En-Ming Hsu.  He worked his way up from pastry cook to pastry chef over the next four years.  Afterwards he continued to gain valuable experience working as the pastry chef for Sofitel Hotel in Chicago, IL and is the former pastry chef of 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, VA.  Upon graduating the Culinary Institute of America he continued to further his education by enrolling in several courses at the French Pastry School in Chicago, IL.  His latest accomplishment was winning a Rammy Award as "Best Pastry Chef of the Year" for the D.C. area for 2010.

Barbara graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management.  She then worked at Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg, VA.  Barbara moved to Illinois to work at a small family operated bakery called Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie located in a suburb of Chicago.  It was here that she found it necessary to learn the art of making espresso drinks; anticipating it would be a necessity to serve espresso and coffee drinks in their bakery one day.  She left the baking industry to accept a management position with Starbucks.

Anthony and Barbara are very excited to have recently opened their retail location.  They celebrated their grand opening on Saturday, July 26, 2014.  The bakery will be open 6 days a week and offer not only pastries and custom cakes but also hand crafted espresso drinks using coffee roasted from Catoctin Coffee Company that is located in Lovettsville, VA.
